Fascia, Soffit and Barge Board Refurbishment in Suffolk – Timber Restoration and Guttering Replacement:

At AM:PM Construction, we recently completed a fascia and soffit refurbishment project on a period property in Suffolk, restoring an ageing timber roofline and giving it a new lease of life.

The existing timber fascia and soffit boards had deteriorated over time due to years of exposure to the elements. As part of our timber restoration process, we carefully stripped back all existing coatings before thoroughly preparing the wood. Damaged areas were filled, sanded smooth, and treated with a specialist wood preservative to help protect against future weathering and decay.

We also removed the old decorative barge boards, re-cut and installed new timber boards, and carried out the same thorough preparation and decoration process used on the fascia and soffits. This included stripping, filling, sanding, preservative treatment, and the application of high-quality coatings to ensure a durable and attractive finish.

Following the preparation stage, the timber received a high-quality undercoat and durable top coat, providing a long-lasting finish while preserving the character and appearance of the original roofline.

To complete the project, we carried out a full guttering replacement, removing the old rainwater system and installing new black uPVC guttering and downpipes. The modern guttering not only improves the property’s appearance but also ensures efficient drainage and reduced maintenance requirements.
